Why Are Small Groups Important?

Near the beginning of His ministry, Jesus created a small group on purpose (Luke ch. 5). He knew that to develop the twelve disciples into followers of Him, they would need to be close in their relationships with one another and in proximity to each other.

The members of the early church (Acts 2: 42-47) also knew the importance of fellowship and staying in close relationship with other followers of Jesus. They shared meals and resources so that they could take care of each other. They demonstrated a group mindset that was outward focused by reaching out to help others find and follow Jesus. As a result, God was able to use them to expand the church.

Here at Followers Church, our goal is to see every person involved in a small group where they can grow their relationship with God and help others do the same.

We have two types of small groups:

LIFE GROUPS: A group that meets in a home, or business where the focus of study is the message video and life lesson that gets sent out every Friday.

ROAD TRIPS: An affinity group that is designed by the leader, or leaders, to connect with a specific group of people. A women's book study, men's bible study, crafting group, fantasy football league, or softball team are all examples of current or past Road Trips.

If you have questions or would like more info on joining or starting a Life Groups, please fill out the form and we will get you connected!
